Sun Wukong - The Monkey KingWoD / Changing Breeds White Wolf, Inc. 2007 8″ x 10″ Prismacolor Markers, Graphite, White Charcoal From the Manuscript: “A Wukong Warrior’s primal form is fairly mundane, taking after whichever animal he resembles. In his human guise, he favors simple, colorful robes. His War-Beast form is another matter altogether: Legend says the Monkey King possessed a suit of golden armor, as well as a golden staff that could shrink to the size of a pin or expand into an immense pillar. His fur was tinged with gold, and his eyes burned bright with it. An actual suit of armor made from gold would be impractical for the Wukong Warriors, who prefer to think of their namesak’s golden armor in metaphorical terms: an outer shell of calm that protects them from the chaos of the world.” Key Words: World of Darkness, were-chimpanzee, werechimpanzee, were-chimp, werechimp, primate

I really like the shading of this piece. However, I have a couple of problems with the depiction itself:
1) Wukong is described as being a Macaque monkey, whereas you have drawn a chimpanzee.
2) The plate armor you have hanging from his shoulder looks like that utilized by the Samurai of Japan. Most traditional Chinese depictions of an armored Monkey King have him in a full suite of scale armor. You have included the scales, but incorporated it into Japanese plate armor.
Other than that, this is drawn with masterful skill. Keep up the good work!
